Regular Mealworms are probably better for normal chooks.

How to feed
Feed Giant Mealworms straight from the container or transfer them to a Komodo Smart Live Food Dish or Komodo Mealworm Dish or glass bowl with slippery sides to prevent their escape.
Storage
Pisces Giant Mealworm tubs are packed with enough food to last them about one week at normal room temperature. Add extra bran when the Giant Mealworms eat it and add a small slice of carrot.
Giant Mealworms are a Tropical species and must not be refrigerated.
